A 2018 Supreme Court decision will have a significant impact on Pay Equity maintenance for many Quebec businesses.
Pay equity adjustments identified during maintenance must now be made retroactively, unlike the previous rule which required only that salary gaps be corrected going forward. Pay equity adjustments under the new Supreme Court Decision are expected to exceed $500 million dollars.
